Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment

MedicarePrepare is committed to making medicareprepare.net usable by as many people as possible. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard most organizations use, and we review the site against it as we add pages.

2. What we do

• Large, high-contrast text and buttons, and page layouts that work on phones, tablets and desktops.
• Headings, lists and link text written so screen readers can announce the structure of each page.
• Descriptive alternative text on photos and charts, and downloadable versions of our charts.
• Keyboard access to menus, forms, the appointment calendar and the cookie bar, with a visible focus outline.
• Forms with labeled fields and clear error messages.
• Plain-English writing. Medicare has enough jargon already.

3. Known limitations

Some parts of the site are provided by other companies, such as the appointment calendar, embedded videos, maps and insurance company links. We choose vendors that support accessibility, but we do not control their code. Some older PDF forms from Medicare or insurance companies may not be fully accessible; if you need one in another format, ask us.

4. Getting help another way

You never have to use the website to get our help. Call or text (918) 420-9999 during office hours and a licensed advisor will answer your questions, read plan information to you, mail you printed or large-print materials, or meet with you in person or by phone. If you use a TTY, you can reach Medicare directly at 1-877-486-2048.

5. Tell us about a problem

If you find a page, form or document that is hard to use, please tell us which page it was and what happened. Email [email protected] or call (918) 420-9999. We aim to respond within two business days and to fix problems we control as quickly as we can.
